Darker Than Black RPG
First topic message reminder :
This roleplay is based on the anime, Darker than Black. It isn't exactly the same but I tweaked things round a little to make it simpler to understand and RP.
Ten years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscape. The real stars disappeared, replaced by false stars. Shortly after, some people gained powers and became Contractors. Occasionally, during a meteor shower, a Contractor is formed.
A Contractor's obeisance can be delayed but it is unavoidable especially after using one's power. If not, they will simply "melt like butter".
Rules/Information
- You are only allowed to roleplay as only Contractors.
- You may only have up to four characters
- Your Contractor cannot have similar powers with other Contractors
- You may use the example powers/obeisance in this topic

About ContractorsIt was dark.
The city was unnervingly quiet that night as the black cat swiftly leaped across one roof after another, only pausing for a short sniff. There was a dark figure crouched at the edge, back facing him.
"Mao? What is it?" The figure spoke tonelessly.
The crescent moon was partially hidden behind the gloomy clouds, weak rays of silver light reaching his face. But one could not see his face.
Because he was wearing a mask. A mask that shielded his face. Mao stared at him for a while longer than necessary, wondering what lay behind that unnerving mask and cold voice. Perhaps there was more behind this mysterious Contractor. Sensing that the other man was waiting for an answer, he quickly mewed, "We have orders from The Syndicate, Hei. Stop the Evening Primrose."
- Spoiler:
- - Has an individual superpower
- Has a corresponding fake star which reacts when they use their powers
- When they die, their fake star falls
- Have to pay a price (this is known as an obeisance) for their powers
- Think rationally (eg. can kill without guilt)
Examples of Contractor Abilities: Strength, Super speed, Water manipulation, Animal possession, Heat generation
Examples of Obeisance: Growing younger, Self-harm, Writing poetry, Regaining human feelings for a brief time, Eating eggs
A Contractor's obeisance can be delayed but it is unavoidable especially after using one's power. If not, they will simply "melt like butter".
- Spoiler:
- The Syndicate The Syndicate is a mysterious underground organization. Their main goal is to destroy all Contractors.
Evening Primrose The Evening Primrose is a powerful organization founded and run by Amber. The EPR's public objective were to reveal the existence of Contractors to the public and given a status as a new race.

Re: Darker Than Black RPG
A silent boy, appearing no older than eighteen appeared and approached the body without a word, stormy gray eyes calm. Pushing his silky dark hair out of his face, Beau took a moment to stare at the deceased girl before him then bent down to take her limp body into his arms. Touch was a generally unwelcome sensation to him, but he would make an acception for the dead.
"Instead of simply speaking of a burial, perhaps we should get on with it and start the ceremony. If we waste our time here too long, we may loose all hope of finding those scum."
Voice soft yet booming like early spring thunders, the pale boy turned on his heel and carried the dead body off toward the nearby park which opened up into a small forest. Beau set a somber mood in his wake, willing rain to sprinkle down softly from the slowly darkening clouds. The drops made light pit-pat echos that were almost in tune with the Contractor's retreating steps. Death left a bitter taste in his mouth, but Beau wouldn't waste time on this dead child while they had a semi-hot trail to work with.
(Hope that was ok, never seen Darker Than Black either, but I thought Beau would fit perfectly here xD)

Rhyme squinted closer at a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. She instantly knew that was her sister. Seiche is a Contractor right? Therefore, maybe some of those other teenagers could be Contractors. They don't seem to be though. She pondered. Rhyme bit her lip in frustration. The memories before all this mess happened flooded her mind. She inched closer to the commotion, making sure she didn't stray away from the shadows.
---
Promise was casually walking through the town, with grocery bags hanging out of her arms. Her hair was nicely braided and still damp from a shower she took earlier. The fresh grass crunched under her boots. She saw a group of kids, and a dead body. Promise ran to the group, and froze. "What....What happened?" Promise stuttered, dropping her bags. There was a ring around the victim's ankle.

~ Fraternal twins is good idea c:~
Amber dipped her head. "Thank you Beau," she murmured. To Promise, she explained," A murder. Someone-"
"A member of the Syndicate killed this innocent girl," Rhyme blurted out. She scowled, seeing eyes on her, and squatted, doodling in the dirt with her finger.
"We don't know for sure, though there is a chance," said Amber, brow creased. "Now, like Beau said, let's get going. We have things to do." She got up and began walking.
Seiche stood up and followed, thinking Amber looked younger than she usually did. She proceeded a few paces and glanced around, with the creepiest feeling that she was being watched.

"Do you think there's other dead citizens out in the city some where?" April was fiddling with a strand of her pale hair-- a habit she had when she was nervous. "If people start falling dead left and right, someone's bound to notice. We have to find out who did this. And fast." Silently analyzing her thoughts, she let Beau lead them in to the forest, but stopped at the fringe of the trees. She could keep watch here, and besides, she couldn't shake off the feeling of a presence that told her that someone - or something - was watching.

"The Syndricate is killing innocent people now?" Promise said chewing her thumb. She shivered, as though as someone was watching her. She whipped her head around, but saw no one. She knew they were obviously being watched. "Hey maybe we should keep it down a little. Don't wanna start a commotion." She said twiddling her finger. "I'll just stay here and keep watch on anything odd and you guys can go take care of that girl." Promise added, turning the other way.

Rhyme shuffled quietly to wall and covered her mouth. They're on to me. I honestly don't want to fight any of them nor deal with the whole sappy reunion with my sister, but yet, I really wouldn't mind finding out if they all are Contractors. She said, slinking down to the ground. I'm just going to wander the streets a little, maybe steal some cash for tonight's dinner or something Rhyme thought as she took the back alleyway. As Rhyme was walking, her capsule containing her weapon was in her hand.

Re: Darker Than Black RPG
Beau set the girl's limp body on a rock near a rickety old shack not far into the treeline. Turning to look back at Promise, his face steadily lost the look of an eighteen year old and now looked more around seventeen from the use of his powers. "Alright then...I can do this myself, anyway." he muttered and turned back to the shack, pulling a key out of his pocket to open the pristinely unrusted lock on it's door he'd placed himself. Shoving the shiny key into the lock, he flicked it gently until a familiar click of the lock unlocking sounded. Unhooking the lock and opening the loudly creaking door, Beau swept his dark locks from his eyes and looked around for a shovel.

Kyros had been walking about when he stumbled upon a girl. She was a rather plain looking thing and he felt particularly unamused at the moment so the boy had killed her. He'd left his mark: a burnt ring around her ankle and went on his way with a grim smirk on his lips. Those Primrose fools would certainly find this to be evidence, but the thick-haired ginger boy would leave none as he took to the trees as means of escape. Her screams would have made them come and Kyros took that as his signal to leave. Not long after, Kyros had been following the group who'd found the girl, one of them carrying her to be buried. It was around that time he also spotted a Syndicate girl from his alliance retreating when a girl from the Evening Primrose turned just as his ally hid behind a wall.
"Seems like a distraction is in order,hm?" Kyros murmured to himself, a wicked grin brightening his oddly iridescent yellow eyes. As the words were spoken, a tree not a meter from Promise burst into flame, licking hungrily with a hot blue and white color. Kyros hid himself in the high branches of his tree, shadowed by its leaves and the shadows the trunk itself shed. This would surely prove interesting.

Re: Darker Than Black RPG
Promise's eyes opened. She willed her powers, and soon became unseen. "You're The Syndricate right? And your little friend that was stalking us earlier is an ally?" She said distancing herself from the talking flaming tree. "And most importantly, did you kill that girl?" She spat. Her knuckles were clenched. While she wasn't the best at fighting, she'd avenge the little girl.
---
Rhyme saw glowing behind her and she ran straight towards it. As soon as she got there, she heard voices, but no bodies. She saw one of her "allies" although, she wasn't fond on teamwork. Flaming trees. Just fantastic. She put her palm on one tree and froze the trunk solid. "You know, I hate how destructive and distracting fire is to be honest." She sighed. "I was too lazy to egg on a fight like usual, but I guess I'll have too." She taunted.

Re: Darker Than Black RPG
Either she was going crazy or she really saw fire. Either way, April knew that the fire wasn't Promise's doing. Maybe the Syndicate? she thought hopefully. Flipping the hood of her jacket over her head, she crouched down and quickly removed the knife strapped to the inside of her boot. The others were preoccupied with the burial of the girl. April would be able to at least hold the troublemakers off until her comrades came to back them up. Silent and as quick as a snake, the young Contractor leaped to her feet and trotted off towards the now frozen-flaming tree.
